Shilajit is a mineral-rich exudate obtained from high-altitude rock formations and has a long history of use in Ayurveda as a rasayana. As raw shilajit contains insoluble impurities, the quality of the final material is determined largely by its purification.
Raw shilajit is sourced from the Himalayan belt across North India and Nepal.
The material is purified by water-based extraction with repeated washings to remove rock, plant matter and other insoluble residues.
The purified shilajit is standardized for fulvic acid and humic acid content.
